Michelle's 'owners' decided to abandon their home and leave Michelle behind on a 4' chain with only the junk that you see as her shelter(bottom photo).

Neighbours heard her crying and were kind enough to feed her. After much confusion between the local authorities who couldn't decide who was responsible for rescuing Michelle, she was finally taken in and subsequently accepted into Hopeful Hearts.

The bottom photo shows where Michelle has lived all her life - a real doggy hell. Hopeful Hearts found out about Michelle through a concerned citizen in a small Ontario town outside of Toronto. This caring lady's name was Michelle and in her honour, we have named this girl Michelle.

Michelle appears to be about 9 years old, a shep/husky cross who loves people! She has not been spayed yet but this will absolutely be covered by Hopeful Hearts as well as all the vetting to help her heal from her terrible neglect. Michelle would prefer to be the only animal in the home as she does not feel comfortable with dominant dogs around her. This may be a result of being in heat(just finished), when she arrived at Hopeful Hearts but in the best interests of her happiness, we would like her to be the only dog.

Michelle will love you with all her heart and deserves to be loved in return.

It's November 3rd, 2009 and Michelle has left us to go to doggy heaven. We are very happy that we were able to provide her with a loving home for her last days. Not having to worry about food, shelter and love must have made her final months heavenly.
